This Web site purpose to provide information on the
craft of aerial cinematography. It was first launched
in 1998 as a source for film production personnel. Camera
mount, pertinent aircraft and personnel information is
readily available to aid in the decision making process
for any upcoming aerial shoot.
The site's primary creator and designer is Mark R.
Leins who has served as an aerial camera technician in
the motion picture industry since 1995. Mark has extensive
experience with the Tyler mount and Gyron FS systems
as well as being the only US-based Vectorvision technician..
A major contributor to the site's content is Greg
Collier who is currently a technician for the Gyrosphere
gyro-stablilized ball mount system. Greg also has much
experience with Tyler mounts and the outside mount.
The site is owned by Laurie K. Gilbert S.O.C. of L'Image Cinematography, an aerial and marine cinematographer who operates globally from an operational base in South East Asia. Laurie has more than 25 years experience as a professional Director of Photography shooting motion picture material in a total of 46 countries..
It is supported and hosted by Digital Tsunami, a Communication Solutions Provider with offices in Australia, Brazil, China and New Zealand.

"Safety"
is promoted first and foremost with safety bulletins
created
by the Industry Wide Labor-Management Safety Committee. "Mounts" covers most of the commonly used aerial systems
commercially available. We provide information on compatible
camera systems and aircraft for each mount.
"Aircraft" provides info on helicopters and fixed-wing
aircraft commonly used as camera ships. Some are specially
modified and only available from a single source.
"Crew" covers the essential personnel needed for staffing
an aerial production unit. Lists of current specialists
and their resumes are provided.
